Bailey Banks & Biddle, one of America’s most storied jewelers, was founded in 1832 as Bailey & Kitchen in Philadelphia, evolving into Bailey & Co. before reorganizing as Bailey Banks & Biddle in 1878. Renowned for its craftsmanship, the company designed significant pieces like the U.S. military medals and the United States Great Seal, both still in use today. In addition to jewelry, Bailey Banks & Biddle made its mark in horology by retailing exclusive timepieces from prestigious Swiss watchmakers, often featuring custom dials bearing its name. In 1962, the company merged with Zales Corporation, expanding to numerous locations.
However, after a series of ownership changes, the brand was reduced to a single store by 2010, leaving behind a legacy of excellence in both fine jewelry and luxury watches.
