Baylor Watch Company was a private-label brand created by Zales Jewelers, a Texas-based company headquartered in Dallas, that offered Swiss-made timepieces combining quality craftsmanship with affordability. While Baylor was not an independent watch manufacturer, Zales sourced its watches from reputable Swiss brands such as Heuer and Girard-Perregaux, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s. Baylor chronographs, especially those made by Heuer, have become sought-after by collectors due to their close resemblance to Heuer models from the same era. Though the watches were Swiss-made, their strong connection to Texas came from Zales’ retail presence.
The brand eventually faded as Zales shifted focus, but vintage Baylor watches remain appreciated for their Swiss movements and ties to some of the industry’s most respected watchmakers.
