Frederique Constant, founded in 1988 by Dutch entrepreneurs Peter Stas and Aletta Bax, is a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer based in Geneva. The brand’s name combines the names of their great-grandparents, Frederique Schreiner and Constant Stas. Their mission was to produce in-house Swiss mechanical watches at accessible prices, not restricting them to wealthy connoisseurs.
In 2016, Frederique Constant was acquired by Citizen Holdings, yet it continues to operate with a focus on innovation and craftsmanship.
