Perrelet, founded in 1777 by Swiss watchmaker Abraham-Louis Perrelet, is credited with inventing the first self-winding movement, a groundbreaking development that laid the foundation for modern automatic watches. His work influenced subsequent horologists, including Breguet, and solidified Perrelet’s reputation as an innovator in watchmaking.
