The Pulsar LED watch had several versions: The P1 model, marketed in 1972, the world’s first electronic digital watch. The P2 model, marketed in 1973, the world’s first successful, mass-produced digital watch. The P3, marketed in 1973, the first LED watch with date. The P4 Executive, marketed in 1975, a smaller version of the P3. The Pulsar Time Computer Calculator, launched in late 1975, the first electronic calculator watch. The lady’s Pulsar version was launched in 1974.
The Pulsar Time Computer, a name chosen to imply space-age technology, made by the Hamilton Watch Company from Lancaster, Pennsylvania along with Electro-Data., of Garland, Texas, created a masterpiece in horology that stands as America’s biggest watch success story. The Pulsar LED, launched in 1972, billed as the world’s first digital watch.
